Meals in the campus dining hall
Family style – shared with students, faculty, scientists and other campus users.
Our food is prepared fresh with local ingredients. We employ the farm to table concept as 20% of the products come from our integrated farm and 25% come from our neighbor's farms. The remaining percentage come from a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and a small pulpería (mini-market).
Examples of meals.
Breakfast
Traditional Gallo Pinto (mixed rice and beans with salsa lizano), often served with fruit, plantains, arepas, cheese or eggs. Local coffee and tea.
Lunch and Dinner
Traditional Casado with rice, beans, a meat (poultry, beef, pork or fish), boiled veggies, salad. Fruit juice and iced water.
Meals are served at set times. Breakfast 7:30 am, lunch 12:00 noon , dinner 6:00 pm. Please be on time as food runs out quickly!
Meals are included in the daily campus rate. Please let us know if you have any special food-related needs.
